98. Describe your day.

This is one that you get to make up yourself, so I decided to describe my day. This morning was pretty mundane, but once I got to my Spanish class, the day got much more interesting.

This morning I drove to school surprisingly not a lot of traffic again today. I was practicing my oral presentation and driving. I know not the safest thing to be doing while driving, but I was not reading just talking to myself. I must have looked crazy because a guy was starring at me from his truck. Anywho, I get to my first class take notes, I did not chat to O.C. this morning so be proud! I focused on my work, no offense O.C. There was a lot of chit chat in class today, more than usual. I hate chit chatty girls! Punch them in the face!

I get to my Spanish class and I am pumped and ready to give my presentation, but no, we have to take our reading quizzes first, oops, did not read those, was too busy practicing and re practicing my oral. So, we take the quizzes, I bomb them, and I am the first to give my presentation. Not a good idea. I freaked, completely freaked! I lost my words, started crying, yes crying and ran out of the room. What made it all worse was as I was running for the door, people were shouting behind me "good job" "you were doing well", I appreciate that but it made it worse. A girl from my class came to comfort me in the ladies room, thank you to her. I sucked it up and went back to class, splotchy on my face and chest. I was the second to last to go this time. I did well ish, I made it through but lost half of my presentation. It was better than nothing. I really need to work on my conversational Spanish, good thing I have D.A. and N.V. and F.M. and H.M. to help with that.

After class I participated in a research study for extra points in my psych class. It was interesting, but the guy giving the study was creepy. He was flirting with me. Ew!

Then I came home. TADA!

I do appologize for my absence. I have been super busy in summer school, it is my own fault, I am a procrastinator. I am now caught up and have returned for the last of these fun Ideas. I am meant to stay on campus for a research project i volunteered for. I had to be here at 9 am to do the first part of the study and need to be back here at 9 pm for the second part, no sleep in between. So I decided to stay on campus and leave my library blanket at home as to not tempt myself with a nap. I am not allowed caffine either. That part wont be so hard I usually only drink water anyway. I left campus after my last class to go to Urban Outiftters to look around, bought two shirts, naughty me and I am debating going back an awesome dress. All on sale obviously, times are hard. I shouldn't have even left campus , just a waste of gas, but all the food places were closed and I am saving my packed lunch for dinner. Did not think to bring enough for 3 meals today. On my way back with my fun shirts in tow, I stopped off at Chipotle for a burrito bowl, mmmm yummy. I ate half of it the other have is still sittin gnext to me, still good to eat... I hope, except that I made shapes and fun designs out of it. I will not take or post pictures because that last time I did that SOMEONE made a comment about it here, I understand where she was coming from so I will not post it again, but I must say that the outcome was quit impressive, if I do say so myself. It displayed my "teacher art" talent, as my brother likes to refer to it. Instead I will post some pics of somethings that I have created and that you can purchase here. Or not, it will not allow me to upload images so just check them out here!

27. Read a story out loud to a friend.

I read Peter Rabbit out loud to myself. I am my friend. I can do that. I love children books. Especially ones I grew up reading or listening to myself. There is one book I read over and over and over. I still remember what I believe to be the first line in the book. I have no idea the title, the author anything, I can not find it anywhere. No one seems to know what I am talking about. I should look it up on Google again. I will do that now, hold on one second... still can not find it. Let me tell you what it is about, maybe you know...

There is a farmer and his wife, they grow turnips, only turnips, they are tired of eating turnips. They have some neighbors or new neighbors who make... cheese? Well the farmers wife knits socks and trades them for the .... cheese that they make? In the end the neighbors wife has made something out of the socks because she doesn't really need that many socks. I think she made sweaters for the farer and his wife... I think. TADA! Know? please let me know!

25. Read a book in one day

I re-read The Bell Jar today. Was awesome. I was supposed to be doing my homework or reading for school, but I had to do my blog right?! I love re-reading books, you find so many things you may have missed the first, second or third time you read the book. It may not be that you missed it, but maybe it was a detail that did not stick in your memory. I re-read all the books I love at least once a year. OK only once a year, no more, I have to make room for new books. I recommend you read The Bell Jar if you have not already done so. Once you read it you can give it a review on this website, you can review ALL the books you read, make lists of ones you wish to read and ones you are reading now. Add me as your friend when you do!

7. expose yourself to a new artist, describe what moves you about it.

So I am not exactly exposing my self to a new artist. This is one I have known about for awhile. I saw his video on youtube. I saw his book at Urban Outfitters, my friend did a report on him for school. This guy is wonderfully interesting. His art is amazing. So instead of exposing myself to a new, as I do most every day, I am hopefully exposing you to a new artist, or bringing him back into your memory.

One of his famous works is on the side of a building in Brighton, England. I saw it with my own two eyes. We were on our way back to the train station after spending much needed time with our cousins. We were headed back to Horsham to leave for America the next day. My cousin asked me if I knew who Banksy was, I said yes and she said well there is one of his most famous works. It was amazing, rumor is the city wanted to wash it away but the Bobbies (police) wanted to keep it up, so it is now protected by plexi glass! The work is of two Bobbies embracing and kissing.

Also, in Brighton, they give graffiti artists walls to express themselves. I took loads of pictures of them but cannot seem to locate them. My brother is going to check his computer, if he has them then I will def post them!

97. Random

Number 97 is one where I can choose any topic, so I decided to do a Mariamism for you all. I ordered some more awesome shirts from threadless and today I am wearing one. This is not just any shirt. This shirt is magic! Yes you read correctly, MAGIC!!!! I love this shirt because it seems plain Jane and boring but when you step out into the glorious sun (the sun which feeds plants and our bodies, it magically changes our skin too (but you might want to be careful with that and use sunscreen), the magical thing that lights up our days and reflects on our nights, the huge ball of awesome that changes our view of things and allows us to see the world in all its glory), it changes. A monster magically appears, well, I guess not monster it is the little girls imaginary friend. This shirt is magic and puts a huge smile on my face just as my rain boots do, those marvelous things which turn any rainy, grey day into something mystical and exciting, because I can walk through puddles, now that is extraordinary! I will get pics of me wearing the shirt soon!

False Alarm...

I did not have to send my comp away for repair, they just wiped it clean and I am starting all over. I will have to send it away later for the plastic repair on the keyboard area and the microphone. I will resume my original blog tomorrow after my spanish exam. I spent most of yesterday evening at Apple so I did not have time to study, hence me doing it now and tonight and tomorrow morning before class. For those of you who like to hear/ read about my Mariam-isms, please see my other blog (Matt).

I must apologize, there as been an illness in my electronic word that has stopped me from posting. I am here today but I will be gone for a while. My poor computer is sick. I took her in Sunday because some programs were not working properly, I got her back on Monday evening. Now more programs are not working properly, for example, I took my comp in on Sunday because iPhoto would not open, and my firefox would not stay open. I get her back Monday, iPhoto will not close, Word will not open and firefox still will not stay open. Not to mention I lost the notes I took in class on Tuesday because my comp froze. VERY SAD DAYS! I am taking her back in today, I am going to get everything fixed, the broken plastic on keyboard area, the microphone that has been wonky for a while, a few people can vow for that, the problem with my word program, although I do have iWork, which works fine but there are something you cannot do on pages, my iPhoto problem and.... I think that is it. So there is my sad but true explanation. Oh and for those of you worried about all my data and fun pictures, I bought an external hard drive yesterday with 250 GB to back up al my stuff AND to finally utilize time machine which will prevent future losses of documents and information. WOOT! for innovation!

14. Trace your footsteps in chalk.

So I definitely did not trace my footsteps in chalk, I captured them in pixels. I am free to interpret things as I wish. Plus I forgot to grab sidewalk chalk out of my trunk, yes I keep it in my trunk, I carpool now so I cannot just go to my car and grab it. So, I improvised and used a different medium, my camera. I traced my steps through out today. Also, I wanted to show off my fun Toms shoes that I got in Austin with my friend Kara.

21. Hang upside down for 5 minutes.

So, I hung upside down on my bed. No monkey bars near me, plus I wore a dress today, as I will as often as possible this summer in this nasty heat. I say nasty but it gives me a good reason to summer dress shop and spend boockews of time at thrift stores and cheap-o shops and at online stores like this one, where I got the most AWESOME skirt ever!
Sorry this is meant to be about me hanging upside down. there is nothing more freeing than hanging upside down, your blood stops doing the same old boring thing, instead of taking the normal route around your body, it goes to your head, and your head turns purple and red and you feel all this pressure building up, then we you become up right again, you feel as if a huge weight has been lifted off your head. It is very symbolic, hanging upside down is. If you can just get yourself up right again, standing on your own two feet, then everything will be OK. I think I should hang upside down more often, and I recommend that everyone hang upside down, it is a great place to think, becasue face it, when you are upside down you can not really do anything else, might as well make use of all the blood flow there and think!

4. Draw your dinner.

So my mom made a huge batch of pesto pasta salad and I have been eating that for the last few days. So that is what I drew here. Pesto pasta salad, which, as of now, I never want to eat again. It has bow tie pasta, salmon, tomatoes (which I pick out), broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, garlic, black olives (which I pick out), pesto stuff, chives and I am sure other stuff. It is yummy but not 15 days in a row! I also have strawberries and blueberries, with tea.

9. Spend a day drawing only red things.

So I spent my half day drawing only read things. I have a lot of studying to do so I can not spend much time on my blog this summer. My work load is ridiculous. I hope you all enjoy my "teacher drawings", as my older brother calls them. I was going to draw the dress I am wearing today but it is a bit more coral than red. The library is virtually empty, there was one cutie wearing a red shirt, but I am not good at drawing people so I just stared at him.

Anywho, in the picture I drew a tomato that would have been in my pesto pasta salad, if I like tomatoes, strawberry which I brought in my lunch today with blueberries (they are not red so I could not draw them), the stop sign by my house without the lettering because they are not red and I can not draw letters very well, m sexy red high heels ( I love that song by Kelly Pickler) and finally one of the red pillows on my couch that cushion my head when I pass out watching movies.

My bike does not work. It is old and rusty. So I drew what I would want my bike to look like. It is supposed to be a road bike. The kind that you see in the movies where the lady has a basket of flowers in the front and she has a flowy, flowery dress and she is riding through the country side.

These are the random drawings of the crease on my left hand (needed my right to draw). I have always wondered if a child never opened their hand, had kept if clenched in a fist for their whole lives, if they would have creases on the outside of their hand, and vise versa, if they never closed their hand. Just something to ponder.

This is not what my garbage looks like. When I throw something away, I never what to see it again, well if it is recycled that is fine, I wont recognize it anyway. I live in a trailer with my Grandmother, not sure where but I know it was in Texas, Houston most likely.
I lived with my Grandmother in her house in North Houston.
I lived/ live in Alief, TX. It is still in Houston.
I lived in he Heights, that is still Houston.
I hope I get to add to this list of places. I want to end my life in a different place. Native Texan living in __________. I will figure it out.

I am at a local coffee shop and I am looking to find to interesting conversation to listen to. Then I find a pretty juicy one. here goes.
A: What do you mean you don't know? You were not that drunk remember? You told me you were able to drive home, so you could not have been too drunk. You should remember if you kissed her.
B: I just don't remember, I left a while after she did, so I was a sobered up a bit before I went home. I really don't remember. I don't think I kissed her.
A: I think you are just saying that you don't remember because you don't want me to be mad. I am more angry that you are not being honest with me. Do you still have feelings for her?
B: WHAT!?!?!? No! She was just there and I was drunk.
A: So you did kiss her?
B: I didn't say that.
A: Thats what you just said. You said "She was just there and I was drunk." Which means that you did kiss her, and you remember it. I hate that you feel like you need to lie to me to keep me happy. This makes me miserable, and angry.
B: I'm sorry. I just don't want to lose you.
A: Well lying to me is no way to do that. You can't have a relationship when there is no trust! I have to go, I can't sit here anymore. I will call you when i cool down.
B: Just stay and talk to me.
A: No, because this isn't the first time, I do not know how to handle this, you tell me you love me, then you kiss other girls and do who knows what else with them. I just can't be here anymore.

After that I lost interest because there wasn't any yelling or crying or screaming, they handled that very grown up like and in public, not sure I like the public bit but maybe that is why they were so calm...?

I woke up and cut out shapes from a catalog I receive, my friends gave me sheets of tissue paper that she had to use for a project in one of her classes, a map to a club I was invited to, part of 35mm negative that I had left from my fun new craft projects, crayons and stamp markers, and little drop of soup. Yes I eat soup for breakfast. All these fun things make up my morning collage.

My neighborhood smells like flowers at night. My dad has these flowers in the backyard that bloom at night and smell beautiful, they are a little overpowering when he brings one inside to freshen the house. When he does this I usually put it back outside in the middle of the night. On the weekends it smells like fresh cut grass, grills and sweaty children, sometimes gross dog. Today it smells like gross rain, you know the little bit of rain that falls and brings the smel of the hot concrete or asphalt wafting to your nose. Blech! I do love the way my neighborhood smells during a heavy rainfall, wet and sweet. There so many trees and flower around my neighborhood, i love it!

I noticed these things on my walk from my car to class. It is amazing what you find on the ground. I think there would have been more garbage but there were people picking it up, which makes me smile because then our campus does not look like trash. Try this entry, notice your surroundings, walk slower. I know I power walk everywhere I go, but sometimes I like to slow down and look, it makes a big difference in your day.

I studied the face of a person I do not like. I will not disclose the exact details of this person's face, they may read my blog. I just want to clarify that there is no pattern in the faces of people I do not like, which means it is a personality thing, thats good because then I am not as shallow as I thought. TADA. Go me! I wont tell you about the person's face but about their personality, that way you (my readers), will know what annoys me and wont do them. I do not like it when people talk loud for no reason, I do not like it when people touch me, loud laughers, people who take with out asking, touching my stuff, assuming because I talk to you I like you and gives you permission to touch me or my stuff, people who snap at me and get upset when I snap back, I am nice but I do not take poop from anyone.

Never forget all the awesome times you had. Killing an entire bottle of wine with your friends, killing three bottles with Ashley in the movies. Going to Frontier Fiesta with Adrienne and Kara on only $12 and having an absolute BLAST! Midnight Margaritas. The new things you learned in school even though it took you forever to get out. How much you love attending class and you should probably go back, just because it it fun. Remember all the dreams and goals you had. Have you accomplished them yet? Are you happy? The door my closet. The place where I feel most comfortable when my emotions get the best of me. Not because all of my stuff is in there, but because it is closed in and warm.

My back door. This is the portal to my Orange jungle, the place where I sunbathe and take beautiful pictures and play with my puppies.

This is Emma Jane Robinson. Yes, tat is right, Mrs. Robinson. In her early 20's she traveled the world. Well, kind of she was a nurse in WWII. After such a stint in Japan she did not, like most nurses did, fall in love with some injured soldier whom she nursed back to health with hot soup and blow jobs. She came back to America and was a "band-aid" for the local rock band Hairy Crotch. She can vouch, that the crotches were hairy. She fell in love with the drummer who was in love with the guitarist who was in love with Emma. She married the singer. Her and Lion Jones Robinson married in one of the seedy bars they performed in. The guitarist was the maid of honor. They lived their life happily with no offspring because she believed her husband to be hideous. After 56 years of marriage Lion passed on and left Emma att he kitchen table sewing a button to his shirt.

So these are my favorite sitting spots. I love swings. You are grounded but still floating. I love the feeling of the wind caressing my skin as I push through the atmosphere. I love how my stomach flips a little as I rocket back down. You leave the earth just long enough each time. Never too long so that you want to be back, but never too short that you feel jipped. T love sitting under the orange trees in my dad's backyard. They smell delicious and give such wonderful shade. I remember how they grew as I grew. It is a great place to see the miracles that natures creates. Persian rugs make me feel at home. I prefer the floor. The carpets are soft and have such intricate designs that even a person with ADD wouldn't get bored, there is so much to look at. I like sitting in my car, not in traffic, but just sitting there. I can listen to my music, think to myself. It is my space that is solely me. No one else belongs there. It smells like me, it suits me. Bubble baths.... LOVE them. I love the warm liquid blanket that covers me with the sweet scent of blackberry vanilla. The tangy of the blackberry wafting to my senses. The free thought that the flowing water prompts. The smooth wrinkles of my hands and feet when I finally drag myself out.
I really liked this one, made me feel relaxed. As soon as I get back I will go to all these fun places that I miss, or maybe I will find some here.
I still need to photo copy this and give it someone I like, I am just waiting for Jason to get here so we can go. I did, how ever, post the picture of what I drew. Enjoy.

64. Phsyiclly alter a page. (i.e. cut a hole, pour tea on it, burn it, fold it, etc.)

So I had to alter a page was not sure what to do, so I folded the paper into several rectangles then colored each rectangle. I was going to leave it at that but then I decided to burn it. It was a bit windy outside and almost burned my hand, so quickly vetoed that idea.
Today was a somewhat crappy day here in Austin. It rained. I did get to wear my wellies! yay! Ok the next topic is... let me just get my little bag... and the winner is... 51. I know I normally put a pic of the blog topic but I left my camera charger at home and I do not know how to make Summer's camera take micro pictures. Anywho, this is my grocery list. I have cuties, macaroni, eggs, strawberries, broccoli, steak, chicken, V8 juice, cheese, avocados, grapes, fortune cookie, Aquaphor, and Tampons! Wonderful grocery list.

This is my letter. The letter M. I know this seems boring, but it was creative. Took me a few tries to come up with a medium. I tried coffee, soda and tomato none of which worked, you really cant see them. So I decided to use something I use everyday, bobbi pins!

This one was exciting! I had a hard time choosing a medium but then I decided to go old school and purchase some Crayola Crayons and do it. It came out great. I drew my iPod, wallet, date book, cosmetic bag, Stride gum pack, Sunglass case, hair ties, persian carpet coin purse, keys, digi cam, and my awesome pregnancy test Juno pen! WOOT WOOT!!!

2. Talk to a stranger.

7. Let the people closest to me know I care.
8. Read something that makes me think.
9. Do something I never thought I could. (like eat food on one plate, where everything is touching, yes I did that, and was OK. Thank you for the opportunity! :*)
10. Do a random, original movement! Something no one has done before and will probably never do again, and makes people say "Ummmm, THEMariam, are you OK?"
Ten was tough. I got 9, but after that it was like pulling teeth. I am not sure if it is because I already do stuff I want to do or if it is because I know I don't have time for any of these things so I don't want to wishful think....?

I didn't like this blog. I don't like touching dirty things. Plus it had rained earlier in the week so it was kind of gunky outside. Boo Radley on that. It was fun none the less. I did have some things I picked up from the UofH campus but I left them in my car. I am lazy and did not want to walk back. 38. Describe your favourite room in detail.

My favorite room is my closet. I find that when I am upset i tend to go and sit in my closet. Last week I was having a hard time, and when ever I started to cry I would go sit in my closet. It made me feel better. The space is cozy, and full of color and, like most women, I was surround by shoes and shoes make me smile! Seriously though, I think because the space is small and cozy, there are blankets and stuffed animals, things for me to lay my head and cry. Things I have used as tissue before. I look at those stuffed animals and think, "I have cried on this before and I am OK." Gives the boost of, "this wont last fore ever." So I get up and keep going.

This is a toughy!

1. My MacBook, white with pink speck cover, because it holds my life.
2. My iPod because it holds my sanity and can make or break my moods. (very powerful)
3.My Pentel R.S.V.P. pens in black ink, fine point. They are the only pens i like to write with, which is odd because I collect pens...
4. My pink fairy tales are true boating shoes, I got them on sale, they are supper comfy and they still don't smell like feet! :)
5. My journal that Nelson and Jessica got me, Wreck this Journal by Keri Smith, the wonderful lady who has a wonderful website that given all the ideas for this equally wonderful blog!
6. My shower, it is where I do my best thinking, not to mention I come out smelling awesome!
7. My dark brown jersey knit sheets, because no matter how my day was they make my bed the best place to laugh, cry or think (next to the shower.)
8. My black ankle length footless tights, because those plus any long sweater or t-shirt and you are god to go!
9. My sunglasses all four pairs. because no matter how unoriginal I feel on any given day, I put my fun sunglasses on and TaDa, instant Mariam!
10. Lastly, my headbands, they keep the annoying hairs out of my face, especially since I just got a new haircut and am regretting my choice of bangs.

So I wrote this entry about my most recent secret. It isn't a dirty secret, it is just something I have kept in, feels good to get it out. I hope some of you have tried this, it really does help. No names were used in this entry although it is about someone, it really isn't a "recent" secret per say, rather an ongoing fantasy. I really like how it turned out though. I did not glue it back to my journal, thought colored paper was better, color is always better.
The next blog topic is even easier than this one, well if you know what things are important to you. Tomorrows topic is... 58. List your ten most important things, (not including animals or people.)

TADA! I have made a few things out of paper and tape. My beautiful clutch, my wonderfully useful camera case and my shnazzy iPod case. Jealous? Yes you are, but you can make them yourselves. It is easy and only takes paper and tape... tada. I had a request for paper bracelets, so tada. I am going to figure out a better way to put the pictures on here, until then enjoy!

This is the second blog. I had fun doing this. Got my co-workers to collage along with me. We had fun. I cut the pieces out of a Sephora catalog and an old Marie Claire. It was exciting. I hope some of you attempted this. It was worth the time, made me feel good, brought out lots of creativity. The Begining of THE Awesome

The story:
I have had this blog site for awhile now and have just gotten an idea for what to write. A couple of my friends have given me a fun book for my birthday, it is a journal, that is more of an activity book for grown ups. I really like the concept of the book and decided to do a search for the author, and I found her site http://www.kerismith.com/ , this woman has wonderful ideas. Anywho, on the site is a PDF titled, 100 ideas, this PDF has ideas for journals, to get your creative juices flowing. So, I have decided to download the PDF and cut the squares out, as instructed and will now post the results on this awesome blog. Some of the suggestions require collages or foot print tracing, I will take photos of these entries and post the pictures. Some of the squares are blank, when one of those is drawn I will ask you, my readers to please give suggestions on what the entry should be. Creative ideas only please.
